Screen Printing vs Embroidery: Which Fits Your Project?
Choose the result you want
Screen printing and embroidery produce different kinds of decoration. Screen printing applies ink; embroidery builds the design with stitched thread. The right choice starts with the look you want and the actual garment, not a rule that one method is always better.
Design and placement
Consider the requested design size, detail and placement. A logo on a polo and a larger graphic on a T-shirt can call for different preparation. Send the artwork and garment details for review rather than assuming fine lettering or every image can be reproduced unchanged in thread.
Preparation and price
Screen printing needs prepared screens and ink. Embroidery needs digitizing before stitching. The design, quantity, placement, garment and preparation affect the quote. Ask for project-specific pricing; do not rely on another shop's minimums or a generic price comparison.
Timing at Wow! Custom Tees
Embroidery normally needs at least one day and is not a standard same-day service. Screen printing is not routine same-day either, with next day the earliest possible completion. If you need suitable garments today, ask whether DTF or vinyl is an alternative.
Garment review and care
Material and construction affect suitability. Customers can supply their own garments for review. Ask for care guidance for the finished item instead of assuming every printed or stitched design has the same lifetime.

Common questions
Can you do same-day embroidery?
Same-day embroidery is not our standard service. Embroidery normally needs at least one day, including preparation of the digitized design file. If your deadline is urgent, contact us as early as possible so we can assess what is feasible. We confirm the turnaround for each accepted order.
Can you screen print an order the same day?
Screen printing is not our routine same-day option because the screens and ink need preparation. Next-day completion is the earliest possible turnaround, not a guarantee. For suitable garments needed today, ask about DTF or vinyl printing.
Can I bring my own garments?
Yes. Share the garment type, material and desired design placement before bringing it in. We review whether it is suitable for the requested customization before accepting the order. Supplying a garment does not by itself guarantee same-day availability.
Can every fabric be printed or embroidered?
Not every garment works with every method. Material, coatings, construction, seams and the design placement can affect suitability. Send garment details or a photo of the label so we can review the item and recommend an available option.
What is embroidery digitizing?
Digitizing prepares a design file with the stitching instructions needed for machine embroidery. It is a preparation step before stitching, not simply an image conversion. We review the design, requested size, placement and garment as part of confirming the order.
How much does customization cost?
The quote depends on the garments, quantity, design size and placement, customization method, preparation and deadline. Send your project details so we can review the work and provide an order-specific quote.
