Choosing Garments for DTF, Screen Printing & Embroidery
There is no best fabric for every project
Choose the garment around its intended use, comfort and the design you want. Then check whether the material and construction suit the customization. A fabric label alone does not prove every printing or embroidery method will work.
Read the garment label
Share the fiber composition, garment style and color. Cotton, blends and synthetic fabrics can require different handling. Coatings or heat-sensitive materials need particular attention. The decorating system and actual item determine suitability.
Check construction and placement
Seams, pockets, zippers, lining and panels affect where a design can go. Hats, jackets and bags need review of the actual construction rather than the same assumptions used for a flat T-shirt. Send photos of the intended placement and the label if you will supply the garment.
Match the design and use
Tell us how the item will be worn and how large the design should be. A staff polo, sports jersey, brand hoodie and tote project have different priorities. We review the artwork with the garment instead of guaranteeing one method for every material.
Plan sourcing and timing
If you need a particular style or color, confirm availability before setting a deadline. Supplier garments cannot arrive the same day. Suitable garments already in store or supplied by you may support a same-day DTF or vinyl request if capacity allows.
Send the item for review
Include garment details, artwork, placement, quantity and deadline in your quote request. WCT can help you assess the available options before accepting the order.
Common questions
Can I bring my own garments?
Yes. Share the garment type, material and desired design placement before bringing it in. We review whether it is suitable for the requested customization before accepting the order. Supplying a garment does not by itself guarantee same-day availability.
What if my preferred garments are not in store?
We can review sourcing options and timing, but garments ordered from a supplier cannot arrive the same day. A supplier order placed before the usual cutoff may be eligible for next-day arrival, subject to availability and shipping delays. We confirm the plan for your order.
Can every fabric be printed or embroidered?
Not every garment works with every method. Material, coatings, construction, seams and the design placement can affect suitability. Send garment details or a photo of the label so we can review the item and recommend an available option.
Do you make jackets from scratch?
No. We customize ready-made jackets rather than manufacturing jackets from scratch. Bring your own jacket or tell us the style you need so we can review suitable garment and decoration options.
Can you customize tote bags?
Send the tote style, material, design placement, quantity and deadline. We can review the bag and discuss suitable customization and sourcing options. Not every material or construction works with every method.
